Introduction

Hello everyone,

My name is Anthony Lara. I am currently a healthcare professional with a background as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA), and I am in the process of reactivating my license. I am based in Puerto Rico.

I decided to join this program because I want to expand my skill set and gain a better understanding of process improvement and efficiency, especially within healthcare settings. I believe Lean Six Sigma principles can help improve patient care, workflow, and overall system performance.

At the moment, I am in a period of transition in my career. I previously pursued graduate studies in Occupational Therapy, and while that experience was challenging, it also gave me valuable insight into the importance of structure, communication, and continuous improvement. I am currently exploring new directions, including rehabilitation counseling, while also strengthening my professional foundation.

One of my main goals for this course is to develop practical problem-solving skills that I can apply in real-world settings, particularly in healthcare environments. I also hope to gain tools that will help me contribute to more efficient and patient-centered systems.

I look forward to learning alongside all of you.
