Greeting from Hawaii
Aloha all, I'm Steve Dyer, active duty Navy Limited Duty Officer serving in Hawaii. After enlisting following high school it took me 20 years to get a degree, followed by an MBA four years later. As I get ready for retirement I'm looking to increase my knowledge of project management and lean principles.
I expect that I'll be able to use this Green Belt certification immediately in my job as Officer in Charge. So many processes we follow in the military are the product of many years of accumulated behaviors, legacy technology, and risk avoidance. These processes are ripe for innovation, smart risk taking, and a reimagining of what's possible in today's environment. Adding Lean thinking to our military culture can provide benefits almost immediately. What processes at your command or company are ready for a modern refresh?
