Intro Discussion

Why are you taking this course right now?

I wanted to take the Lean Six Sigma Greenbelt course to improve my credentials on my resume. Recently, I completed my MBA coursework, with the graduation ceremony in May. However, I've been out of work since May 12th, and many of the jobs I am looking to move into, some specifically call for Green or Black belts. I am familiar with some of the concepts of Six Sigma, having worked in manufacturing, where we followed 6S principles and Kaizen, or the idea of continuous improvement. I hope to use these concepts in an exciting new role in the future.

What outcome do you want in the next 3–6 months?

Ideally, these Six Sigma certifications, Greenbelt, and possibly, in the future, black belt, will bolster my credentials to find a better job in a project management capacity as I work towards getting my PMP certification.

Who does this impact beyond you?

This certification, along with a black belt and, in the future, a PMP certification, will give me the opportunity to find work that has a positive, meaningful impact on the community. It will also give me work opportunities where I can provide for my children in a way that improves our family life.
