Day 1 Discussion

Hello! I'm Amanda. I'm active duty Navy, and have been in for 22 years. I will be retiring soon and thought this course could help open new job opportunities as I transition to the next chapter of my career. I completed my Yellow Belt certification last year, and it really got me interested in continuing with Lean Six Sigma. Seeing how useful it can be in improving everyday work made me want to take it to the next level.

In the next few months, I’d like to start seeing real improvements in how I work—getting things done faster, with fewer mistakes, and with less last-minute stress. I also want to make my workflow more consistent and reliable. A big goal for me is to apply what I learn to fix a recurring issue that’s been affecting my team’s efficiency.

This doesn’t just benefit me—it helps my whole team by improving the quality and timeliness of my work. My manager should also see the difference in how I handle problems and deliver results more consistently. In the end, it also helps our customers or stakeholders, since better internal processes usually mean better and faster service overall.
